Hatte's Mural
Sunita is an artist based in Pune. For her home, she wanted to create a welcoming entrance space for when her friends and family would visit. We worked on a wall mural made out of natural paints in a split complementary colour scheme.
To represent Sunita’s love for plants and flowers, we used botanical motifs based on her favourite ones. The mural is created solely with natural materials, most of them locally sourced. The ochre background was painted with mud, while the leaves and flowers used a combination of limestone powder and oxide colours. We used coconut oil as a binding agent to bring everything together.
The result is a warm entrance in earthy tones, and is the first thing visitors see when they drop by at Sunita’s home.
