Barefoot is a sustainable brand that believes in the use of natural materials. We build outdoor spaces that are ecologically responsible. Our designs are customised to resonate with the spaces and people we create for.
For us, aesthetic goes hand in hand with the environment, which is why our spaces are mindfully designed to minimally impact nature.
At Barefoot, we work predominantly with earth, stones, foraged wood, bamboo, and natural fibres. Our handcrafted offerings include sculptural seatings, reliefs with natural plasters and paint, and permaculture gardens.

Sushmita Hatte: Founder

Sushmita is a multidisciplinary designer who found Barefoot in 2018. Her journey with Barefoot began when she fell in love with mud work. She wanted to create a space to appreciate natural materials and bring back age-old building techniques.
Formally trained as a product designer, Sushmita’s experience with alternative materials and her understanding of spaces guides her work. She currently teaches aspiring designers and is heavily involved in all the operations and projects at Barefoot.
